Ardkeenan N.S. is a mainstream co- educational school, under the patronage of the Bishop of Elphin. Our school is situated five minutes drive from Athlone town, in the idyllic and picturesque parish of Drum. We cater for boys and girls from Junior Infants to Sixth class and currently have 85 pupils enrolled in our school.
We strive to provide highly quality learning experiences where every child is encourage and enabled to reach their full and unique potential. We are proud of the positive school atmosphere and tight knit school community that we can provide, an atmosphere that lends itself to effective learning and development for all of our pupils.

FAI 5 a side - second round competition on April 1st for our 5th class girls team.
School will close on Friday 11th April at 12pm for Easter Holidays.
Confessions in school for our pupils from 3rd to 6th Class on Monday 31st March
School will close at 12pm on Friday 2nd May to facilitate staff training for the new Bí Cineálta Programme - been rolled out across schools nationally.

Well done to all our pupils in 6th class who made their Confirmation last Tuesday 25th March in St. Brigid's Church in Drum. It was a very special day for all involved. Many thanks to Bishop Kevin, Fr. John and Ms Greaney for their kindness and support in preparing the children for the day.
We hope to be in a position to install new solar panels into our school over the coming months - having applied for recent solar panel grant offered by the Department of Education in January
