School History

Ardkeenan National School has stood on it's present site since 1935. It is a six teacher school (4 mainstream class teachers and 2 Special Educational teachers) and one part-time SNA.

The school was extended in 1995, in 2017 and in 2021 another large classroom and link corridor was added to our school. It is a rural school in beautiful idyllic surroundings and is only 5 miles from the centre of Athlone.

There school is serviced by two different bus companies, Bus Eireann and Willie Moore's bus company.
